Privacy policy

MapTint is operated by Jianbo Ying, an individual based in Shanghai, China. This policy explains how we handle information when you color US states, export maps, or use an account. Contact privacy@maptint.world for privacy requests.

Editing drafts stays in your browser unless you choose to save a configuration to your account or share it. We collect your email address for sign-in, account identifiers and sessions for access, and the configurations and solid-color entries you explicitly save. Avoid putting sensitive information or other people's personal information in map titles or legends. We do not use your configurations to train AI.

Anyone with a share link can view and copy the saved map settings. Sharing is optional. Revoking a link prevents future access through that link, but cannot remove copies already made. Shared responses do not include your email address or billing information.

Cloudflare provides hosting, database services and sign-in challenge protection. Purelymail delivers sign-in and support email. Creem handles payment as merchant of record and has its own buyer terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Information may be processed outside your country, and the operator accesses necessary support information from China. We do not promise US-only storage.

Free account data remains while the service operates until you delete it. After Pro ends, excess configurations and colors remain read-only and exportable for 90 days, then are removed; excess sharing stops when Pro ends. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and sessions after seven days. Account deletion immediately disables account and share access. We remove ordinary account data within 30 days and age out backup copies within 30 days. We keep minimal payment and reversal records, with a de-identified account reference, for 24 months for accounting and disputes; legally required longer retention is limited to necessary records. Closed support conversations are retained for 90 days.

We use necessary session cookies and local browser storage to provide sign-in and draft recovery. Optional product analytics is off until you opt in, and can be turned off at any time. These events exclude your email, map text, configuration content and share link. Raw optional events are retained for 30 days and aggregates for 90 days. We do not install advertising trackers or session replay. Infrastructure providers may keep their own diagnostic records under their policies.

You can export your account data, delete items, revoke share links and request account deletion from your account. You may also contact us to request access, correction or deletion and, where applicable, raise a concern with your data-protection authority. We verify requests without asking for passwords or full card details. The service is intended for adults. If we learn that a child has provided account information, we will remove it.
